Titanium its density is small, is just around 4.5 g/cm3, much lighter than stainless steel.

Light, but not weak, some grades of titanium alloy can reach 1200 MPa for tensile strength. So Ti alloy can be used on engine parts, satellite, fuselage parts and missile.

        

1) , Decrease the weight, and increase the structure effect. Titanium alloy strength can reach middle-class steel, and density is much smaller, which can reduce air plane weight.

2) , Titanium alloys has good property on heat resistance. For example, Titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V can be working well in the temperature 350℃ for long time. TC11 (Ti-6.5Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si) is better, 500is no problem.

3) , Long life, and anti-corrosion. Titanium and Titanium alloy have the special advantage: Anti-corrosion, is the guarantee its long life.

No only civil aircraft, now many military air planes use more and more titanium.
